Do You Treat Your Body Right?

Hey Y’all,

I hope everyone is surviving this period of exams and still have time to enjoy laughter throughout the day. In the midst of exams, we soon to forget we had a sleep schedule, that we should probably exercise or even to EAT!

Eating healthy during exams is probably one of the challenges as an university student. As a fourth year student, I’ve seen the temptation to just feed our body and keep on studying.

But, did you know the healthier you eat, the better you feel and the more energy you can get? I’m here to share some simple tips to pack or eat healthier when you have a busy schedule.

Tip 1: Cut up and Pack fruits and veggies

If you’re trying to reduce the amount of sugar you intake a day, try to cut up fresh citrus fruits. Instead of having a bottle of processed juice you can eat fresh fruits to give your daily intake of vitamins and taste! Or even pack some raw veggies the night before so you can carry it out throughout the day. I find it helpful to use 5 minutes to just pack some snacks to go and leave it in fridge when you need it. Citrus fresh fruits

Tip 2: Don’t buy instant trail mix, make your own!

Trail mixes are delicious but be careful of the saturated fat levels and salt. I make my own trail mixes by adding my own ingredients. I recently made a trail mix with multi-grain cheerios cereal, banana chips and unsalted almonds. Try using different types of cereal, non-salted nuts and maybe something a bit more sweet for a little kick.trail-mix-raisins-XdjbAO-lg

Tip 3: Just drink Water.

When we are tired, it’s very easy for us to believe that coffee will solve our tiredness. If your eyes are sore, just take a bit of time to nap or close your eyes for 10 – 15 minutes. I’ve heard that chugging water can help wake you up! If water is boring, just add some fresh fruits or lemon! Water also supplies us with energy and better skin! water-poured-into-glass

Most importantly, find time for yourself to relax and de-stress. Exams are important but nothing is more important than your mental state and body! Enjoy the next following study days and be refresh to kick those exams in the butt!
